Twice a month, The Center for Theology and Contested Publics will offer a new episode of “Believing Aloud” on Spotify and YouTube that explores topics related to public theology and theologies of public life. Included in each episode is an interview with some significant thinker or activist working in public theology as well as a recurring segment, “Views on the News,” in which Mark Douglas and Grace Kao provide some theological reflection on some topic in the news of the day.

Episode 1.1: Origin Stories
This episode explores the origins of public theology. Where did it come from? What are some of its flavors? How have its origins shaped (or misshaped) its tasks? Who are some of the people doing interesting public theology today? And in “Views on the News,” Mark and Grace discuss the strange unreality of the current U.S. war with Iran.
