P6104 Social Media and Media Ministry: The Why, the What, and the How

In an age shaped by digital communication and mediated presence, the church is called to reimagine its witness, ministry, and mission. Social Media and Media Ministry: The Why, the What and the How invites students to explore the theological, cultural, and strategic dimensions of engaging media as a central practice of ministry. This course examines why media matters in the life of the church, what effective media ministry looks like, and how congregations can faithfully and creatively embody the gospel in digital spaces. Through theological reflection, case studies, and hands-on assignments, students will develop a framework for media ministry that is rooted in the church’s mission, responsive to cultural shifts, and capable of facilitating authentic connection, storytelling, and discipleship. Whether livestreaming worship, curating social media content, or launching a digital ministry initiative, students will learn how to lead change through media in ways that are intentional, sustainable, and mission-driven.
