PC6721 Topics in Chaplaincy Studies: Formation, Self-Awareness, and the Work of Care

This course examines the inner work required to care for others in times of suffering. Integrating spirituality, behavioral, group, and experiential learning theories, students explore how personal history, theology, and learned behaviors shape caregiving. Through reflective practice and dialogue inspired by Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), participants develop self-awareness, theological humility, and the capacity for authentic presence in the work of care.
